ESPERANZA UPDATES – OUR RESPONSE
Our dedicated clinicians and staff are working to provide excellent care for our patients, and to partner with other organizations to serve our community. Here are some of the ways we’ve been doing this:
TELEHEALTH – ADDRESSING PATIENTS’ CONTINUING MEDICAL NEEDS
To ensure our patients can receive care without additional risks from coming to our sites for their appointment, we’ve responded by greatly increasing our telehealth capacity to enable remote patient visits with their medical, dental or behavioral health providers. Your contribution to our COVID-19 Relief Fund will support our much-needed telehealth expansion and ensure that all of our patients can receive high-quality care from their home.
COVID-19 TESTING AND CARE
At all three of our sites, we’ve set up respiratory evaluation areas where patients with symptoms similar to those of COVID-19 can be evaluated and receive testing, as needed. In late April, we joined Rock Ministries of Kensington in opening a new testing site at their location on Kensington Avenue for community members.
COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
Our Department of Community Health and Wellness staff are reaching out to our community in a number of ways. Staff have made home deliveries of food to our “Young at Heart” Seniors group members and to other community members, with thanks to our Kensington community partner, The Simple Way, for providing bags of food. The department has also worked with our Nutrition department and Fitness staff to develop a series of videos with fitness routines and recipe demonstrations. And, our Phoenix Café continues to provide free lunches for all of our on-site staff during this time.

COVID-19 RELIEF FUND:
Your gifts will make a real difference and can help our providers and staff to care for our patients and community members who are at the greatest risk because of COVID-19. Your gift can also help us to care for our staff through lunches provided by our Phoenix Café.

Thanks for your prayers for our entire Esperanza staff as we care for our patients and community!
DONATIONS OF PPE AND MASKS:
The need for personal protective equipment (PPE) for all of our staff will continue for the foreseeable future as we serve our patients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We are seeking donations of new/unopened medical grade face masks, goggles, surgical gowns, surgical masks, and N95 masks. We can also accept donations of cloth face masks for other non-clinical staff.

Donate Stock
Shares of appreciated stock can be donated to Esperanza without either party paying capital gains on those shares. In addition, you will be able to write off the full current value of these shares, and Esperanza does not pay capital gains tax when we sell the appreciated share.
