Covid-19 Medical Appointment Update : Telehealth Visits

Esperanza Health Center now offers TELEHEALTH  visits with your Medical, Behavioral Health, and Dental Providers. It is a safe and easy way to consult with your health care provider without having to come into the office.  Telehealth is a secure telephone appointment to support patient needs. It may be done through a secure video link, or a standard phone call

    To schedule a VIDEO TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT with a provider, you will need to do the following:

    1. Call us to schedule a medical appointment, or request an appointment online through the Patient Portal.
    2. Make sure we have your current cell phone number on file.
    3. You will need a smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a webcam. 
    4. You will need to use Chrome,Firefox, or Safari browser
    5. Please update your browser settings to allow webcam and microphone
    6. On the day of your appointment, you will receive a text initiated by Doxy.me. Your provider’s name will be in the text message. This message will be in English. The phone number and link will be specific to your provider.
    7. You can connect with the provider from your phone, or you can copy the Https address into your web browser. An example of the text invite is shown.
    8. Click on the link to start the process. Once you open the link, the app in your phone will give instruction in whatever language you have set in your phone browser.
    9. Type your name into the welcome box when it appears. This is your “check-in”
    10. Choose “enable camera” for a video call if needed. Note: it is best to change this permission prior to initiating the call.
    11. You will be in a “virtual waiting room” for a short period of time while your provider finishes with the patient before you. The screen will say “Welcome!  I will start the video call in a moment.”  PLEASE DO NOT HANG UP!  As soon as your provider arrives, you will automatically be connected and able to see each other!

    To schedule a AUDIO TELEHEALTH APPOINTMENT visit with a provider, you will need to do the following:

    1. Call us to schedule a medical appointment, or request an appointment online through the Patient Portal.
    2. Make sure we have your current phone number on file.
    3. Please be sure your phone is not on silent
    4. Near the time of your scheduled appointment, watch for an incoming call from “ESPERANZA”
    5. When you answer, your provider will already be on the call
    6. If you do not answer and try to call back, you will not be able to reach the provider directly. All return calls are answered in our call center.  Please explain to the operator that you just missed a scheduled telehealth appointment with the provider.  Our call center will attempt to reach the provider and connect you.  If the provider is unavailable to take your call, we will send a message.
