COVID-19 Vaccine Update
On May 12th, the City of Philadelphia announced that it is no longer a requirement to be a Philadelphia resident to receive the COVID-19 vaccine from a site within Philadelphia! The time is now to get the vaccine and to discuss vaccination with your health care provider if you have any questions or concerns.
- Esperanza Health Center is administering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, which is approved for individuals ages 18 and older, at our Hunting Park and Kensington sites. You can learn more and register for a vaccine appointment by visiting our website at https://esperanzahealth.com/covid-19-vaccine-information/.
- We encourage those who are not yet vaccinated to find a location near you to receive the vaccine – please visit vaccinefinder.org/search.
We’re grateful to our many supporters and community partners for your contributions that have made it possible for us to provide COVID-19 vaccines – thank you!
EHC Hosting Community Vaccine Clinics in May
This month, we’ve held walk-up community vaccine clinic events at our Kensington and Fifth Street sites, offering the single-dose Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, which has now been approved for use for all adults age 18 and older. Esperanza recommends this vaccine for women over 50 and for men over 18; individuals with a history of blood clots should consider other COVID vaccines.
We will hold another vaccine clinic event on Monday, May 24th from 1:30 – 4:00 pm at our Kensington site (861 E. Allegheny Avenue).
