We provide health education and programs that promote physical, emotional, relational and spiritual health for individuals and families.

Youth & Family Programs

Philly Youth Basketball

Free basketball training and off-court enrichment for 5th-8th graders.

Date: Mondays & Wednesdays 4:30-6:30pm.

Clay, Play, Read!

A 5-week clay program for families.

Date: Mondays, March 17th to April 14th, 4:00-5:30 pm

Summer Teen Internship

Description: An immersive 3-week experience for high school sophomores, juniors, or seniors interested in a career in healthcare. Join us in Summer 2025 for shadowing opportunities, professional development, mentorship, hands-on training, and more.

Adult Programs

Lifestyle Medicine Class

A class that teaches how to prepare plant-based meals and discusses health topics.

Young at Heart Seniors Program

A community for older adults to gather, laugh, learn, and share life stories and experiences together. We play games, go on trips, do art activities, and learn about different community resources and health topics.

Date: Tuesdays, 10:00am-11:30 am

Yoga 4 Philly

Free, beginner-friendly yoga class with childcare included! Enjoy the benefits of stress reduction, increased flexibility, mental clarity, concentration and better posture. Walk-ins welcome, no registration needed.

Date: Wednesdays, 5:30-6:30PM

Community Health Promoters

An 8-week training addressing physical, mental, relational, and spiritual health topics. This course aims to empower community members by enhancing their skill to advocate for health topics, support their community, and share valuable health information with others.

Date: Fall 2025

 

CORE Action Team

CORE Action Team

Resident advisory board made up of members who live, work, or worship in Kensington to give insight and feedback on community and development decisions made by Esperanza Health Center. Accepts new members yearly.

Time: 1st Wednesday of the month 6:00-8:00PM

Community Resources

Baby Goods Exchange

For families with babies and children to share and exchange clothing, toys, bottles, and other materials, and learn about available community resources! 

Dates: May 3, June 5, September 4, October 18, December 4
