Prenatal Classes Begin at Esperanza - March 2012 - Esperanza Health Center

In February, we began to offer new prenatal education classes for expecting first-time mothers at our Kensington Avenue site. The monthly classes are focused on preventive prenatal care, breastfeeding education, care of newborns and infants, and other key topics, within a supportive and interactive setting. Classes are led by Esperanza’s Dr. Annette McDaniel-Turner, obstetrician/gynecologist and director of prenatal care, and health educators Esther Reich, RN, and Danelle Karlson, Doula.

Says Esther, “The goal of our classes is for women to receive the support, education, and care that they need during pregnancy, and beyond, as new moms. We want it to be a place where they build supportive relationships with each other and with us. We also want it to be a place where they consider God’s plan for their life and enter into relationship with Him.”

Thanks to our many supporters and partners in ministry for your gifts and your prayers, which have made these new prenatal classes a reality!
