Community Health and Wellness

Due to recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and precautions around social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Community Health and Wellness Department at Esperanza Health Center has suspended or postponed all community programs for the time-being. These include:

  • Young at Heart Seniors Program
  • Community Health Promoter Program
  • FamilyFit
  • Recipe for Health
  • Parenting Circles

We do not take lightly the decision to postpone these programs, as we know that mandates to remain at home increase social isolation for many community members. As such, we encourage everyone to remain in community through the following ways:

  • Reach out to your loved ones by phone, email, or video chat
  • Help elderly or sick family members, friends, and neighbors with groceries or other basic needs so that they do not have to go out
  • Know which community resources are open and available for yourself or others
    • Click here to see a list of resources for our North Philly communities
    • Click here to learn more about the COVID-19 response for Esperanza Health Center patients
    • Lift each other up in prayer

We will continue to provide updates as we know more information about when programs will start up again. Until then, know that we are praying for you!
